Saariselkä
Far-north wilderness resort — glass igloos under the aurora.
— Trajet —
Jet to Ivalo · 30 min drive
Saariselkä, in the far north of Lapland near Inari, is one of Europe's northernmost resorts — reached by FFGR Jets to Ivalo, thirty minutes by chauffeur. The Kakslauttanen glass-igloo village made the destination famous; FFGR Finland coordinates private igloo and log-castle stays, aurora hunting deep in the Urho Kekkonen National Park, and visits to the Sámi cultural centre Siida on Lake Inari. This is genuine wilderness — wolverine and golden eagle country, the polar night absolute in December, the midnight sun unbroken in June. Cross-country trails fan out from the village into one of the largest protected areas in Europe.
